All King George County Schools will now be closed
Friday, May 25 and Monday, May 28th.
The King George County School Board will be conducting
interviews for the position of Superintendent from April
21, 2012 to May 5, 2012.
King George High Skills USA students did an outstanding
job this past
weekend at the State Leadership Conference in Hampton,
Virginia.
Bradley Sisson won a silver medal in the Poster competition, and a
bronze medal in the Related Technical Math (drafting)
competition.
Sean Jensen represented KGHS in the Criminal Justice competition andBrittany Jenkins competed in the Criminal Justice
Technical Exam and
placed 15th out of 45 competitors.
Mrs. Burke's TAG math classes in grades 4-6 participated
in the Virginia Council on Economic Education's annual Mini-Economy
Market Day at Virginia Commonwealth University. Students study economics in the classroom and
participate in the market by producing their own products and purchasing goods from other student
vendors.
6th grade language arts classes at King George Elementary had the unique opportunity to meet author Troy Howell after reading his book. The
Dragon of Cripple Creek Students posed questions to Mr. Howell about the craft of being an author and story elements specific to the book.
